I've developed web applications, contributed patches to PHP projects such as Drupal,  X-cart, and Magento. I've also created a Drupal module (Jquery_Slideshow). I've been actively programming in PHP since 2001.

  • Developed a product database that tracked thousands of skus, their prices, vendors, descriptions, and appearances in catalogs. This database also synchronized with another database to keep the product descriptions in tandem, as well as tracked the revisions of the product descriptions. This organized the products and made it easier to pick skus for new products, get reports for order processing staff to reference.
  • Developed a Key Word tracking tool to keep track of desired key word positions over time. This utilized PHP, Perl, and a Postgresql database. This was not a screen scraping program, but utilized the web APIs for Google, Yahoo, and MSN. This helped us to identify where we lacked in keyword performance and how are ranking fared over time.
  • Sizing Tool application that allows motorcycle riders to submit their measurements and get recommended suits sizes returned. Javascript, PHP, MySQL.

Drupal

I created and maintain a Drupal module called Jquery_Slideshow.  It creates a javascript slideshow that automatically scales images and rotates them. You can find all of my contributions to Drupal by searching on my username nvoyageur.

Magento

Even though Magento is relatively new, I've been using it since it the first stable release back in May 2007.

Javascript

Javascript projects I've developed include:

  • A color swatch switching program to display different color combination for various products.
  • Several AJAX functions such as auto-filling a city/state field from a zip code database
  • The aforementioned Jquery Slideshow module written for Drupal.
  • Very adept with the jQuery library.
